The IYPT and IGEO camps will open April 15, 2010 at The Bells Secondary Schools, Otta, Ogun State.  Students from the 2010 IJSO Academy and selected schools will be invited to the camps which will be used to select Nigerian representatives at the 2010 International Young Physicists Tournament in Vienna, Austria and 2010 International GeoG Olympiad in Taipei City, Taiwan.

Registration opens February 2, 2010 for Nigerian Geo-Challenge, Big Science Competition and International Mathematics Competition. Schools and students are expected to download the registration form and follow the information therein and submit before the deadline as started in the forms. Nigerian students have started on a bright note by winning a gold and silver at the 1st Asean + 3 Science contest concluded January 16, 2010 in Busan, South Korea. Nigeria was represented by Miss Uzoamaka Alatta and Master Jewoola Oluwatobiloba. Both students are from The Bells Comprehensive School, Otta. The students were given gruelling scientific tasks which lingers over a period of 6 days.

The result has signify the start of a very successful year for the IJSO Nigeria family. There are still many events to come and to crown it up. The 7th IJSO will be hosted in Abuja. for more details on contests available for 2010 please visit our IJSO Calendar page here.

A new syllabus have been approved by the IJSO international board which will take effective on all IJSO Countries from January 2010. Please visit the IJSO Syllabus page [click here] for details of the new syllabus. We strongly employs all schools, students, IJSO Coorindators and others to note this new change.

There was little changes at the States' Ranking for IJSO Nigeria. Kwara state remains number 1 followed by Lagos and Anambra state. However, three new states for the first time have entered the top 10 IJSO States in Nigeria. Benue, Rivers and Oyo state did put up a good performance at the 2009 IJSO in Baku, Azerbaijan to merit a top 10 placing. Click here for the full list. The second phase of the IJSO Camp opens today at The Bells Secondary Schools Otta from 12noon. The best 14 students from the last camp have been invited and served with an official invitation letter.
